What to do in Oman

Oman has been on our travel bucket list for a while. We recently had the chance to visit and it certainly lives up to the hype! We found pristine beaches, magnificent deserts, spectacular mountains and a rich history. Read on for a few of our travel tips and, of course, some Loteli floats in action!

Where to stay:

The Chedi is one of the top hotels in Oman. Its stunning gardens are so beautiful to walk around. There are several excellent restaurants and, importantly, beach access!

Where to play:

The Muscat Hills Beach Club is a great place to spend an afternoon. The beach here is really beautiful, and there are also restaurants and pools to keep you busy. Try the watermelon feta salad!

Top tip: Catering predominately to expats, it's one place where you can enjoy a cocktail as you watch the sunset. On the weekends there are DJs to create a fun beach vibe.

Al Mouj (aka The Wave) is a residential complex, mall and port all in one. It's an up-and-coming spot with some excellent restaurants. We loved sitting outdoors in the warm air and people watching. You can take a boat from here to go whale watching or visit the Daymaniat Islands.

Sites to see:

The Royal Opera House in Muscat is the destination for musical culture and performance in Oman. The building itself is stunning and the gardens are a must-see.
